Effective for the 2017-2018 academic year, the Public Health Program is currently partnering with two new global health field study sites in Uganda: The African Community Center for Social Sustainability (ACCESS)and Action for Community Development (ACODEV).
ACCESS is a dynamic community-based organization in Nakaseke district that provides HIV/AIDS and reproductive health services and education throughout the district. Students are based at the ACCESS Health Training Institute and assist the organization in monitoring and evaluating programs and carrying out trainings.
ACODEV is a large Ugandan NGO, based in Kampala that carries out maternal and child health
programs and human rights advocacy nationwide. Students will assist the organization
in data collection and analysis, documentation of findings, and program evaluation
that support an evidence-based approach to its advocacy efforts to engage the local
community and to improve health outcomes.
